When it's time to replace it, you want the next one to run quieter and burn less gas. We install, repair and service Trane gas furnaces across Long Island, and we stock the common parts. Our family-owned company has been heating Long Island homes since 1981.

Trane is part of Trane Technologies, which also sells American Standard Heating and Air Conditioning. Trane recently renamed its furnaces by tier and efficiency, so the XC95m is now the 96 Modulating Variable Speed Gas Furnace and the S9X2 is the 96 Two-Stage. If your paperwork shows an old model name, it's the same family.

The lineup runs from 80% single-stage units to 97% two-stage and modulating models. Trane's higher-end furnaces use a Vortica II variable-speed blower and Comfort-R settings that pull extra moisture out of the air in summer. You can compare other makers on our furnace brands page.

Trane Furnaces for Long Island Homes

Most Long Island furnaces sit in a basement, attic or utility closet. The Priority 96 has a 34-inch cabinet that fits low spaces or leaves room for a taller coil. Trane also redesigned the Premier 97 cabinet to fit tighter spaces.

Venting matters on a swap. A 96% or 97% furnace is a condensing unit that vents through plastic pipe and needs a drain. An 80% furnace vents into a chimney, so it can make sense when the chimney is in good shape and running new pipe is hard.

Many homes here still burn oil. Trane's current lineup is gas only, so oil customers either convert to gas or choose an oil furnace from another maker. Already have an older Trane oil furnace? Warranty

Trane Furnace Warranty

Trane's Base Limited Warranty covers furnace parts for 5 years. Register within 60 days of installation and the Registered Limited Warranty raises that to 10 years. Trane's warranty guide lists the furnace heat exchanger at 20 years under both, and its 90% to 95% furnace brochure shows a lifetime limited heat exchanger warranty on some models.

Neither warranty covers labor. If you sell your home, a registered warranty can move to the new owner within 90 days of the sale.

These are sister brands from the same parent company, and their furnaces line up closely. Trane's 96 Modulating Variable Speed reaches up to 97%, and Trane's own furnace page lists it at 97.3%. American Standard's Platinum 95 gas furnace is listed at up to 97.3% AFUE with a modulating gas valve and a variable-speed blower.

We stock the common parts for Trane furnaces, including igniters, flame sensors, pressure switches, inducer motors, capacitors and filters. A fall tune-up covers the burners, flame sensor, heat exchanger check, drain, venting and a combustion test. It's the best time to catch a cracked igniter before it fails on the coldest night. Furnace clicks but won't light: a cracked hot surface igniter or a dirty flame sensor.
Blower runs, no heat: a pressure switch fault, often from a blocked condensate drain on a 96% unit.

We do a heat load calculation instead of copying the old furnace size.
We check gas line size, venting, ductwork and the space the furnace will fit in.
We remove the old furnace and set the new Trane unit with proper venting and a condensate drain.
We test gas pressure, combustion and airflow, then set the blower speeds.
We register the furnace for you within 60 days.

1Does Trane make oil furnaces?

Not in its current lineup. Trane's residential furnace page lists only gas models, so oil homes either convert to gas or choose another brand. If you already have an older Trane oil furnace, we still service and repair it.

2What does modulating mean on a Trane furnace?

It means the flame adjusts in small steps instead of running full blast. Trane's 96 Modulating furnace runs between 40% and 100% of capacity.

3What happened to the XC95m and S9X2 names?

Trane renamed them. The XC95m is now the 96 Modulating Variable Speed Gas Furnace, and the S9X2 is the 96 Two-Stage Gas Furnace.

4How long is the Trane furnace warranty?

Ten years on parts if you register within 60 days, and five years if you don't. Trane's warranty guide lists 20 years on the heat exchanger under both.
