About Miller Furnaces

We install, repair and service Miller oil and gas furnaces across Long Island, and we stock the common parts. Because we also deliver heating oil, an oil-fired Miller gets a technician who checks the tank and fuel line along with the burner.

Miller has built heating equipment for manufactured homes since 1919, and its website says most new manufactured homes are built with Miller heating systems. The furnaces come from Nordyne, LLC, which uses the Miller trademark under license and also makes the Intertherm line.

Ownership moved in 2024. Rheem said on Oct. 7, 2024 that it had closed on Nortek Global HVAC, a heating and cooling maker for the residential and manufactured housing markets, and the Miller site's legal pages now point to Rheem. Miller sells oil, gas and electric furnaces, plus split and packaged air conditioners and heat pumps.

Miller Furnaces for Long Island Homes

There are manufactured home communities in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and plenty of those homes still burn oil. The M5 is a sealed combustion, direct vent furnace that sends exhaust straight outdoors, and its spec sheet lists roof jack flashings and flue extensions. The standard cabinet is 56 inches tall, 19 3/4 inches wide and 23 3/4 inches deep, with zero clearance at the back and sides.

Want central air later? Cabinet B adds a coil cavity (76 inches tall) and is A/C ready from 2 to 5 tons. The May 2025 spec sheet says it works with R410A and A2L (R454B) indoor coils, so it can pair with the air conditioners sold today.

On natural gas or propane, the 95% and 96% furnaces use a two-pipe vent, and Miller's brochure lists a kit that runs the new pipe through the old chimney chase. If your home is site-built with a basement, Miller isn't the right fit; see our Airco oil furnace page for basement lowboys and highboys.

Warranty

Miller Furnace Warranty

Miller's warranty page gives oil furnaces and gas furnaces under 90% AFUE a 10-year heat exchanger warranty with 1 year on parts, or 5 years on parts when registered. Gas furnaces at 90% AFUE and up carry a 20-year heat exchanger warranty on the same parts terms.

Watch the deadline. Miller's site says to register within 90 days, but the manufactured housing warranty for equipment built on or after January 1, 2025 says 60 days, and it can deny claims without proof of yearly maintenance. For furnaces under 90% AFUE, that document also ties 5-year parts coverage to a registered, AHRI-matched system. We register it for you the week we install it.

On top of the manufacturer's coverage, Domino backs every installation with a 1-year labor warranty.

Compare Brands

Miller vs Intertherm Furnaces

Miller and Intertherm are sister brands built on the same line, and the model names match: M5SB, CMF2, CMF95, MG2R, MG2S, MG3S, MG1E and CMF3 appear under both names. Since late 2025, a Miller furnace even registers through Intertherm's warranty portal.

The listings do differ a little. Miller rates the CMF2 at 75% AFUE while Intertherm says up to 78%, and Intertherm's chart has an MG3P at up to 92% where Miller lists an M4 at 92.1%. If the label in your closet says Intertherm, the service steps and warranty rules here still apply. Compare other makes on our furnace brands page.

Repair & Service

Miller Furnace Repair and Service

Our trucks carry oil nozzles and filters, Beckett burner parts, igniters, flame sensors, blower capacitors and filters. An M5 tune-up includes a nozzle and filter change, a combustion test and a heat exchanger check, and we leave a written record for your warranty file. Schedule furnace service on Long Island before the first cold snap.

  • M5 burner locks out: a clogged nozzle, a dirty oil filter, a bad cad cell or a weak ignitor.
  • Oil smell in the furnace closet: a weeping fitting at the burner or a loose vent joint near the roof jack.
  • Gas furnace won't light: a cracked SmartLite hot surface igniter or a dirty flame sensor.
  • Weak air at the floor registers: a clogged filter, a crushed crossover duct or the wrong blower speed.
  • Water near a 95% furnace: a blocked condensate drain or trap.
Installation

Miller Furnace Installation and Replacement

Price depends on the fuel, the AFUE level, the cabinet, any vent or roof jack changes and whether you add a coil for central air. Call for a quote.

  1. We confirm the home type, the closet size and the fuel you burn now.
  2. We size the furnace and choose cabinet A, or cabinet B if you want central air.
  3. We remove the old unit and set the Miller over the floor duct opening.
  4. We connect the vent and roof jack, the oil or gas line and the thermostat.
  5. We fire it, run a combustion test and register the warranty under Intertherm for you.

FAQ

Miller Furnace FAQs

Common questions about this furnace brand on Long Island.

1Can a Miller Furnace Burn Heating Oil?

Yes. The M5 burns heating oil through a Beckett AF-10 burner at 83% AFUE, and the CMF2 is an oil furnace that can switch to gas or propane with a burner swap.

2Who Makes Miller Furnaces Now?

Nordyne, LLC builds them under license, and Nordyne's parent, Nortek Global HVAC, became part of Rheem in October 2024. Warranty registration now runs through Intertherm.

3Is a Miller Furnace Right for a House With a Basement?

Usually not. Miller designs its downflow furnaces for manufactured homes, so a basement usually calls for a lowboy or highboy oil furnace instead.

4How Soon Do I Have to Register a Miller Furnace?

Right away. Miller's site says 90 days, but the 2025 manufactured housing warranty says 60 days, so we register it for you at the install.

5Can I Add Central Air to a Miller M5?

Yes, with the cabinet B version. It has a built-in coil cavity and is A/C ready from 2 to 5 tons.
