Airco's furnaces are all oil-fired. The brand's site says Airco products have been manufactured for over 60 years, and it points owners to ECR International for warranty registration. ECR's own brand list includes Utica Boilers, Dunkirk, Argo, Olsen and Airco, and the written warranty for these furnaces comes from Granby Furnaces, Inc.

In 2024, ECR trimmed and reworked the Olsen/Airco line into two groups: a premium, higher-efficiency range and a value line of standard-efficiency models. The Airco site also states the furnaces are sold exclusively through the F.W. Webb Company, a plumbing and heating supplier.

Airco Oil Furnace Models We Install and Service

Airco builds each model in a 100 and a 200 size. The KHM covers 77,000 to 161,000 BTU/h of input, with three firing rates per cabinet, so one furnace can be set up for a small ranch or a larger colonial with a nozzle change.

Airco Oil Furnaces for Long Island Homes

Most Long Island oil furnaces sit in a basement under a low ceiling, which is where the KLR and KLF lowboys earn their place. The KHM-100 stands 46 1/2 inches tall and 21 7/16 inches wide, and it can be installed upflow, downflow or horizontal, which helps in a utility closet or a tight crawl space.

No usable chimney? The KHM accepts the Riello 40BF3 or 40BF5 balanced flue burner for direct venting. The value models (HTL, BCL and BFL) are rated for No. 2 heating oil and biodiesel blends up to B20, according to ECR. All Airco furnaces are listed as A/C ready, so you can add central air to the same blower and ducts later.

Sizing matters more than the label on your old furnace. Many older homes have new windows and insulation, so we size the replacement to the house you have now.

Warranty

Airco Oil Furnace Warranty

The Olsen and Airco warranty (Rev. B, effective November 2023) gives the original buyer a limited lifetime heat exchanger warranty. From the 20th year on, the owner pays a share of the replacement cost: 30% in year 20, rising to 75% from year 25 and beyond.

Parts carry a 5-year limited warranty from the installation date. Labor, shipping and filters are not covered, the coverage doesn't transfer to a new owner, and it can be voided by installation or service from an unlicensed installer. The Airco site links to ECR's warranty registration page, and we register the furnace for you.

Airco and Olsen are two names for the same ECR furnace line. The Airco site uses the two names side by side for the same products, and a single warranty document covers both, listing the same KHM, KLR, KLF, HTL, BCL and BFL models.

The real difference is the nameplate and where it's sold: Airco through F.W. Webb, Olsen through other distributors. If the label in your basement says Olsen, the service steps, burner options and warranty terms on this page still apply.

Most Airco no-heat calls trace back to the burner or the fuel supply, since the furnace cabinet itself has few moving parts besides the blower.
