Long Island winters seldom dip below 5°F, so any LGRED unit keeps its full rated output on a normal cold night. If the mini-split will be your only heat in a space, the Art Cool Deluxe with LGRED Core gives you the most margin. The Art Cool Mirror stops heating at -4°F, which still covers most nights but works best with a backup.

Moving from oil to electric heat? A Multi F with LGRED lets one outdoor unit heat and cool up to six zones. That's often simpler than adding ducts to a house with baseboard heat. Near the water, a yearly rinse of the outdoor coil keeps salt from building up; the Art Cool Premier also has a GoldFin coating on its heat exchanger.

Warranty

LG Mini-Split Warranty

LG's standard limited warranty covers parts for 5 years from the date of installation, and the compressor for 2 more years. Both extend to 10 years when the installer has completed LG residential product training, the install follows LG's instructions, and the system is registered at lghvac.com within 60 days of startup.

LG's warranty also requires vacuum drying at commissioning, a nitrogen purge during brazing and a correct refrigerant charge. Labor isn't covered. Systems we install today carry LG's standard term of 5 years on parts and 7 on the compressor, and we handle the registration.

LG vs Samsung Mini-Splits

Samsung is LG's closest competitor in wall-mounted ductless. Samsung's WindFree Max Heat gives 100% heating at 5°F and runs to -22°F, and its WindFree mode cools without a draft. LG's Art Cool Deluxe with LGRED Core claims full heat at a colder -13°F and runs to -31°F.

Samsung's 10-year term depends on registration alone. LG also requires an LG-trained installer. Both brands offer app control: LG through ThinQ and Samsung through SmartThings.

Repair & Service

LG Mini-Split Repair and Service

We stock common parts such as sensors, drain parts and fittings. A yearly service cleans filters, coils and the blower and checks charge before the heating season.

Error code on the display: a sensor, fan or communication fault that we test part by part.
Water dripping from the head: a clogged drain, or the unit has shifted out of level.
Outdoor unit runs but the room stays cold: low charge from a flare leak or a dirty outdoor coil.
Musty smell at startup: mold on the blower wheel; Auto Clean helps, but a deep clean may be due.
Wi-Fi or ThinQ won't connect: usually a router setting, not a system fault.
