About Fujitsu Mini-Splits

We install, repair and service Fujitsu ductless mini-splits, from single wall units to multi-zone systems. Our factory-trained technicians handle the line set, the electrical work and the condensate drain.

Fujitsu mini-splits are sold in the US under the AIRSTAGE name. The maker, Fujitsu General, became part of the Paloma Rheem group in August 2025 and took the trade name GENERAL Inc. on January 1, 2026. Rheem and Ruud are now sister brands, though their mini-split lines are separate products.

Fujitsu is known for quiet wall units and a wide spread of tiers. Indoor units have washable ion deodorizing filters and apple-catechin filters that catch dust and mold spores with static electricity. The current multi-zone line runs on R-32 refrigerant.

Fujitsu Mini-Splits for Long Island Homes

On Long Island, a mini-split usually earns its keep in summer first. The Altair 700 and Orion models cool in outdoor heat up to 122°F and can keep cooling with the outdoor air as low as 14°F, which helps rooms that overheat from sun or electronics.

Winter is where the tiers split. The Altair models heat down to 5°F, fine for shoulder seasons and most winter days but not the coldest nights. The Orion XLTH and XLTH+ keep going to -15°F and -22°F, and they have a base pan heater so ice can't build up under the coil. If the room has no other heat, we'll point you to an XLTH model.

Houses near the water get salt air, so outdoor units should sit on a stand and away from direct spray where possible. The multi-zone outdoor units use a Blue Fin coated coil that Fujitsu says resists corrosion.

Warranty

Fujitsu Mini-Split Warranty

All current Fujitsu wall-mounted series share the same warranty structure. Without registration you get 7 years on the compressor and 5 years on parts. Register online within 60 days of installation in a residence and you get 10 years on both.

There's also a 12-year tier for systems put in by members of Fujitsu's own contractor program. The warranty covers parts, not the labor to install them, so keep your paperwork with the model and serial numbers.

On top of the manufacturer's coverage, Domino backs every installation with a 1-year labor warranty.

Fujitsu vs Mitsubishi Mini-Splits

These two are the brands people compare most. Mitsubishi's Hyper-Heating (H2i) models are rated for 100% heating capacity at 5°F and heating down to -13°F. Fujitsu's XLTH models are rated to heat down to -15°F, and the Orion XLTH+ to -22°F.

On efficiency, Mitsubishi's Deluxe MSZ-FS wall unit reaches up to 32.2 SEER2 and 11.9 HSPF2, while Fujitsu's Orion XLTH+ reaches up to 33.5 SEER2 and 14.0 HSPF2. Fujitsu Mini-Split Repair and Service

We stock the common parts, including condensate pumps, capacitors, fuses and line set fittings. A yearly cleaning washes the filters, clears the drain, cleans the blower wheel and checks pressures. Our AC maintenance plan covers this.

Indoor unit spitting water: a clogged drain line or an unlevel indoor unit.
Cool air is weak and the coil ices up: dirty filters or a low refrigerant charge from a leaking flare joint.
Timer or operation light flashing: the control board stored a fault code we read from the blink pattern.
Musty smell when it starts: mold in the blower wheel or a filter overdue for washing.
Remote works but the unit won't respond: a dead remote sensor, a power issue or a communication fault between indoor and outdoor units.

You pick the tier and indoor unit style with us, based on how much winter heat the room needs.
We mount the indoor unit, drill one small hole and set the outdoor unit on a pad or wall bracket.
We run the line set, power and condensate drain, then pressure test and vacuum the lines.
We start the system, test both heating and cooling, and show you the remote.

1Which Fujitsu Mini-Split Should I Get for a Bedroom?

The Altair 700 is a good fit if the room has other heat. It runs as low as 19 dB and reaches up to 30.0 SEER2. If the bedroom has no other heat, go with an Orion XLTH model.

2Does Fujitsu Make a 115V Mini-Split?

Yes. The Altair 300 comes in 115V versions at 9,000 and 12,000 BTU/h. Its larger sizes run on 208-230V.

3How Often Should I Clean My Fujitsu Mini-Split Filters?

Clean the main filters whenever they look dusty. Fujitsu says the apple-catechin filter needs replacing every 3 to 12 months, and the ion deodorizing filter can be washed and lasts about three years.

4Does a Fujitsu Mini-Split Qualify for a PSEG Long Island Rebate?

Only as part of a whole-house system. PSEG's $4,000 market-rate rebate (up to a $7,500 rebate for income-qualified homes) needs a NEEP-listed cold climate system sized to 100 to 120% of the whole home's heating load, a Manual J, a participating contractor, and dual fuel controls if the old system stays. Domino is a PSEG Long Island participating contractor.

5Does Fujitsu Make a Black Mini-Split?

Yes. The Orion XLTH+ indoor unit comes in black as well as white, in 9,000, 12,000 and 15,000 BTU/h sizes.
