It also requires a PSEG participating contractor, a Manual J load calculation, a system sized at 100 to 120% of the whole home's heating load and a unit on the NEEP cold climate list. Durastar gives a 10-year limited parts warranty on select unitary models when you register them. Register every piece of a split system, both the outdoor heat pump and the indoor air handler or coil, because Durastar ties full coverage to registration of all components. The unit must also be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor.

Durastar also sells an extended warranty for an extra 5 years through your contractor. Keep your install invoice and the registration confirmation together, since the warranty start date follows the install date.
