Bradford White Corporation dates to 1881 and is run from Ambler, Pennsylvania. It builds tank water heaters in Middleville, Michigan, and sells only through plumbing professionals.

The company is bigger than its name suggests. It owns Laars (boilers and volume water heaters), Bock (oil-fired water heaters), Heat-flo (stainless indirect and storage tanks) and Electro Industries (electric boilers and air-to-water heat pumps). If you've seen a Bock oil-fired heater in a Long Island basement, it's part of the same family.

Bradford White Water Heaters for Long Island Homes

If your house runs on oil heat, look first at an indirect tank. A PowerStor SW-2 uses boiler water to heat domestic water, and the 50R size lists a 210-gallon first hour delivery at 135°F with a boiler putting out at least 120,000 BTU/hr. You get big hot water capacity without a second burner or flue. The PowerStor2 double wall model adds protection when the boiler loop holds glycol.

Homes with natural gas can go tankless. The Infiniti GS hangs on the wall, vents through Schedule 40 PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or stainless pipe up to 150 feet with 3 inch vent, and installs indoors or outdoors with a kit.

Electric homes have the AeroTherm G2. It runs as a heat pump from 37°F to 120°F room air. For qualifying ENERGY STAR heat pump water heaters, the PSEG Long Island rebate goes up to $1,200 in 2026, but never more than half the purchase price.

Warranty

Each type has its own terms. Infiniti tankless units carry a 15-year or 8,000-operating-hour heat exchanger warranty, whichever comes first, plus 5 years on other parts in a single-family home. On the AeroTherm G2, look for a model ending in 10; those carry 10 years on both tank and parts.

Bradford White's indirect warranty lists a limited lifetime tank and heat exchanger warranty with 6 years on parts, but only if the registration card is returned and the heater stays at its original single-family home. None of these warranties pay for labor, and scale or sediment damage is excluded, so flushing tankless units and checking water quality protects your coverage.

The two brands meet head-on in condensing tankless. Navien's NPE-S2 lists up to 0.96 UEF, and its NPE-A2 adds a buffer tank and recirculation pump it calls ComfortFlow. Bradford White's Infiniti GS lists up to 0.98 UEF, and the Infiniti GR adds a built-in recirculation pump.

Warranty shapes are close too: both give 15 years on the heat exchanger in homes, though Navien cuts that to 5 years with uncontrolled recirculation. The real split is range. Infiniti shows an error and shuts down: scale in the heat exchanger, a vent blockage or low gas pressure is common.
Hot water swings hot and cold: the tankless unit needs descaling or the inlet filter is clogged.
AeroTherm loud or slow to recover: the air filter is dirty or the room is too cold for heat pump mode.
Indirect tank runs out fast: the boiler isn't calling for the tank, often a zone valve, circulator or aquastat problem.
Leak at an indirect tank fitting: a connection needs resealing; a leak from the tank shell means replacement.
