About Beckett Oil Burners

We install, repair and service Beckett oil burners across Long Island and stock the common parts for them. We're a family-owned heating oil company in business since 1981, and our technicians work on Beckett burners in basements across Nassau and Suffolk all season.

R.W. Beckett started in the basement of the Beckett family home in 1937, and John Beckett, who joined his father in 1963, is now chairman. The company makes burners, controls such as the GeniSys line, and related parts.

Beckett burners ship on a lot of new heating equipment. The AF/AFG has gone out on original equipment boilers, furnaces and water heaters, and you'll find Beckett burners standard on the Armstrong Air oil furnaces we still service. Beckett calls the AF and AFG the first burners on the market to be B100 and R100 compatible.

Beckett Oil Burners for Long Island Homes

Long Island oil dealers are blending more biodiesel into heating oil. Beckett says its current burners are UL listed for up to 100% biodiesel, and the RF uses what Beckett calls Fuel Agnostic Combustion Technology to switch between No. 2 oil and B100 or R100.

The newer burners use the GeniSys 7565 control, which can be set up and read with Beckett's myTechnician app. When your heat goes out, our technician can pull the lockout history instead of guessing.

If you have an NX burner on a newer boiler, there's no rush to replace it. Beckett still offers key NX parts. If it does fail beyond repair, the RF covers the same firing range.

Warranty

Beckett Oil Burner Warranty

Beckett lists a 5-year factory warranty on new AF/AFG and RF burners. Claims go through Beckett's supplier and distributor network, not to the homeowner directly, so call us first if a part fails.

When a Beckett burner comes factory-mounted on a boiler or furnace, the appliance warranty may also apply. Keep the install date handy.

Beckett vs Carlin Oil Burners

Both are U.S. burner makers, and many boilers list either one as an option. Beckett's AF/AFG covers 0.40 to 3.00 GPH in one chassis; Carlin's EZ-1 covers 0.50 to 1.65 GPH, with the EZ-2 and EZ-3 above that.

The controls differ. Beckett uses its own GeniSys control with app access, while Carlin uses its Pro-X 70200 control with an LCD screen right on the burner. Both brands say their residential burners handle biodiesel blends up to B100, and both carry 5 years of coverage on residential burners. On a replacement, we usually stay with whatever burner your boiler or furnace maker specifies for that model.

Our oil burner service on Long Island covers Beckett tune-ups and repairs. We stock nozzles, oil filters, electrode kits, ignitors, CleanCut pump parts and GeniSys controls. These are the calls we get most:

Burner locks out and the red reset button pops: usually a clogged nozzle or oil filter starving the flame.
Burner hums but won't light: a failed ignitor or electrodes out of position.
Pump whines or the burner loses prime: an air leak in the oil line or a worn CleanCut pump coupling.
